Akselos’ technology is currently in use by customers across the energy industry, including upstream and downstream, and renewable energy, and is trusted by clients including Shell, Lamprell and Pan American Energy. Offshore wind is a key vertical, aligning with the company’s vision of providing technology that enables the green energy transition in line with IEA’s Net Zero 2050 roadmap.
Search Background
Akselos are scaling quickly and have recently taken on external financing from GRO Capital. With a globally distributed team across Europe, Middle East, Vietnam and North America, the business required a high impact Chief Product Technology Officer to help them through the next phase of growth. The CPTO will play a key leadership role within the company and ultimately help change the future of a service it is looking to define. The CPTO will be an inspirational ambassador of the Akselos’ product suite and will build the machinery around Product Management which will underpin Akselos’ accelerated growth.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have in-depth understanding of the market and sales motions currently experienced within Akselos today. They will be adept at transforming a company’s vision into the product, while creating a partnership role with the founders and engineering team to define product strategy with a clear results-focused mindset. Demonstrated track record of building out the product vision, components, pricing and packaging with a focus on new product launch, with a focus on shortening the TTV and sales cycle.
Result
Erevena identified and introduced Dr. Claus Reimers who has deep experience across the engineering simulation software market. Claus has a PhD in Chemical Engineering and co-founded SolidSim through his academic studies – commercialising the business, developing a subscription-based SaaS offering and building a team of 20 people, before successfully exiting the business to Aspen Technology. He then embarked on a highly analogous journey within Aspen Technology, relocating back to Hamburg from the US in 2020 to join Lloyd’s Register leading a team of product and technology leaders with a focus on enterprise Maritime clients.
