Company
myTomorrows is a healthcare platform whose mission is to enable every patient to have earlier and better access to all possible treatment options. The platform offers discovery and connectivity options to doctors and patients, whilst providing biopharma companies access to physician and patient communities and data. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the business has grown to circa 45 people and raised a total of $22.2m in venture funding from leading VC’s including Balderton Capital, EQT and Octopus Ventures.
Search Background
After a fundraise with existing investors in 2020 and a successful rebrand, myTomorrows’ sole focus was on growth. They were in a position to upskill their marketing efforts with a Head of Growth and key part of their management team. Given the focus around the platform, the role needed to combine product and marketing to drive an effective growth strategy, tailored for where myTomorrows were in their journey.
Requirements
There were three key areas of growth that this individual was going to be responsible for. One was building the physician and patient community, therefore finding someone with an understanding of how to segment a new set of customers and install the metrics to measure engagement was critical. Other responsibilities included creating the marketing and growth strategy as well as defining the product roadmap. Therefore, finding a hands-on marketer capable of building a multi-faceted function from the ground up, with a skillset bias towards audience/persona creation, was important. Moreover, someone that could operate and thrive in a high growth environment was key to ensuring mutual success.
Result
Daan Bakker was placed into the role. He was the VP Growth for Virtuagym, an Amsterdam HQ’d fitness marketplace that has raised $10.2m in venture funding from Endeit Capital with c.250 employees. Daan has a strong background in marketing and product and has always combined the two to drive growth. He had operated in a blend of app and platform businesses previously, with emphasis on customer engagement & usage and had managed the entire funnel, setting up lead generation as part of performance marketing. Daan’s experience of operating within multiple early stage environments, inheriting the product and marketing functions to create a ‘growth strategy’ meant his hands-on, positive attitude to getting things do made him an ideal cultural fit for myTomorrows.

Erevena helped us with a key leadership hire that will prove to be critical to our growth. The pace at which the search went was great, and a testament to the team’s sector, domain and local market knowledge. I’d have no hesitation in working with them again.
