Company
Cyacomb’s mission is to make the world a safer place. Its technology helps law enforcement, social media and cloud companies find and block harmful content from paedophiles and terrorists. Founded in 2016, the company has grown rapidly, winning contracts with the Home Office and the National Crime Agency in the UK as well as several high-profile Federal contracts in the US. Headquartered in Edinburgh, Cyacomb raised its Series A funding in March 2021 and is using this new funding to accelerate its ambitious global growth plans.
Search Background
Following its recent funding, Cyacomb is seeking to appoint a VP Sales to drive revenue and customer acquisition at pace. Cyacomb requires a sales leader to facilitate the transition from founder-led selling to a scalable, repeatable sales methodology. As well as developing and implementing a GTM plan, the VP Sales will be responsible for scaling the sales organisation, instilling world-class class rigour and process across the team.
Requirements
Reporting to the CEO, the VP Sales will inherit two account executives as well as assume responsibility for current and new channel partners. The VP Sales will be a strong player coach, combining a hands-on customer approach with a strategic mindset. With a new business focus the VP Sales will be responsible for rapidly driving Cyacomb’s revenue into double-digit millions. Whilst the UK market remains the key short-term focus, the ability to develop Cyacomb’s capability internationally will be a core part of their long-term success.
Result
We placed Stuart Hutchinson in the position of VP Sales in January 2022. Previously he was Director of Sales at Oxygen Forensics, a direct competitor of Cyacomb in the digital forensics space. A key reason we valued Stuart’s experience was not only due to his tenure in digital forensics, but also his proven ability to grow revenue in early-stage businesses. In his last two full time roles he succeeded in growing revenue from c. £1M to £10M+. Stuart was attracted to Cyacomb by its game-changing technology which has the potential to have a profound impact across law enforcement globally. In addition, he was drawn to Cyacomb’s core values and mission, as well as the fact it’s a prospering British company with a strong moral compass and an experienced leadership team.
