Nylas is a unified communications platform that allows developers to connect to every email, calendar, and contacts provider in the world. The Nylas Universal APIs are secure, reliable, and easy to use. With a single integration, pre-built security and compliance features, and a 99.99% guaranteed uptime, Nylas removes the complexity of building and maintaining direct integrations with Gmail, Outlook, Exchange, amongst others. They were founded in 2013 and are based in San Francisco.
At the end of 2018, Nylas raised an over-subscribed $16m Series B, led by Spark Capital, and engaged Erevena to hire their first VP Marketing.
We sought a VP Marketing to report to CEO Gleb Polyakov. This person needed to develop and execute an overarching marketing strategy to achieve immediate and long-term high-growth revenue. It was therefore essential they had a track record of building and leading high-performance teams in a fast-paced start-up SaaS/API environment. The role would lead all aspects of marketing, including marketing strategy, content creation, developer relations, demand generation and communications: creating compelling messaging and brand positioning, jointly set the go-to-market strategy, funnel a high volume of leads to the sales team, and create demand generation programs to ensure Nylas achieve their company goals.
Matthew Harper was recruited from Moogsoft, another Dev Tools start-up in San Francisco, where he had led their Global Marketing team for two years. He was previously with Sony and Glassdoor. Matthew reports directly into Nylas’ CEO, Gleb Polyakov.
Erevena is an extremely valuable and thoughtful partner. We've worked with them to place two executive roles and look forward to working together again in the future. Matt has been instrumental in Nylas' growth over the past 12 months. He brings an analytical, data-driven approach to the function and works across the business to deliver results. His team is extremely high performing, engaged and loyal.
